Taylor Swift Red Tour, Malaysia!

Sometime in March, I marked my calendar to remind myself to buy Taylor Swift concert tickets. It was the first time she's coming to Malaysia and I was waiting for this day to come where I could finally attend a concert of someone that I really liked. I have attended many concerts before...Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, One Republic, Avril Lavigne (twice!), Kelly Clarkson...etc etc but although I do enjoy their music very much they are not exactly what I would call my favourite singer. So can you imagine how excited I was when I found out my ultimate favourite singer is coming to town! (yes, I'm way past teeny bopper age but whatever). Unfortunately, I was a little slow and Taylor's concert tickets were SOLD OUT IN 3 HOURS! I was disappointed and accepted the fact that there is a 99% chance I will never see her live. BUT, on the afternoon of the concert itself, I got a call and can't believe I scored last minute tickets to her concert...and I didn't even need to pay for it...and it was the best seats in town!! SO, THANK YOU ;)

It was a Wednesday and I was obviously at work but the events that happened that afternoon were so hazy cause I was filled with so much euphoria. The only downside was that I didn't have a chance to change into appropriate Taylor Swift concert attire (ie: red high waisted shorts + black & white striped tee) so I was in a formal work dress haha. That didn't stop me from having a blast :D

While waiting for the concert to start I heard screaming behind me, turned around and saw JinnyBoy waving to his fans.

Opening number was State of Grace in her signature red shoes!

She played the guitar for a few of her numbers..

I think this was when she gave a little speech about her next song...RED!

Swapped into an old Hollywood glam gown for The Lucky One (which reminded me very much of Britney Spears' Lucky).

She also played the ukelele when she sang Mean

At one point, a video montage of Taylor singing from the age of 1 onwards started playing. The video stopped after she was 21 years old and guess what song came after???

Twenty two ooh ooo~

This was when she performed Enchanted...I love how she didn't let the hair stuck on her eyelash bother her performance :)

When she came out in this vintage dress, I thought she was going to perform Love Story but no...turns out it was I Knew You Were Trouble! One of my favourite songs of hers :) :)

Halfway through, her frumpy dress was ripped to reveal this sexy outfit...and yes, that's her kicking her dancer here.

Yeap, she plays the piano too.

The sight of Romeo got everyone cray cray cos we all know what that means!! LOVE STORY!

After this song, the stage transformed to a circus with stilt walkers, "siamese twins" and a little magic show. I knew this was the finale because there is one hit song she has yet to perform...

Bam! We Are Never Getting Back Together was the finale! Sorry, was too busy enjoying the last song to take any more pictures so that's my last picture of her :)

It was such an amazing experience!

Have a good weekend y'all :)

Avril Lavigne Tour 2014

I had the privilege to attend an Avril Lavigne concert for the second time of my life last Friday and it was the best damn thing that happened for me in March (pun intended). I had always loved concerts and I love it even more if the artist is someone I really liked. I have been listening to Avril since my high school days and it's so fun to be singing along all her hit songs from her 5 albums! Out of all her songs there were only 2 that I couldn't sing along to (they were from her new album) and all you concert goers would know that this means it was a concert worth your money. I got the tickets for free so it was even more worth it for me. The only downside was that she didn't perform Wish You Were Here & Hot (which is my fave song of hers). I don't blame her though, that only means she has way too many hit songs (which is a good thing!) and she did her best to fit in as many hit songs into her 2-hour performance. I also have to commend her for putting up an awesome performance despite the unhealthy levels of haze which has recently hit KL badly.

Ok, before I go on, I apologize for not getting any nice pictures. Not sure if it was the haze or the fact that my seat was no where near the stage, the photos I took were horrible! So yeah, forgive my lack of photos. I didn't even managed to get a proper shot of her. So here's one I stole from TheStar.

Waiting for the concert to start. Didn't take an OOTD because I came directly from work (Read: looked like crap) but you can see another OOTD of  this H&M dress I wore here. This time I had an N95 mask as an accessory. Yes, the haze was that bad.

"Hey hey you you I could be your girlfriend" :D

My failed shots at Avril...

Till my next concert!

Da Mouth & DJ Tenashar Live in Concert

Photo courtesy of DJ Tenashar's FB page
I had the opportunity to attend the Da Mouth and DJ Tenashar's concert sponsored by Hotlink recently and had more fun than I'd expected thanks to good company :) Besides the mentioned Taiwanese group and Singaporean DJ, there were also other female Malaysian DJ line ups like the popular DJ Leng Yein, her mentor, DJ Jerryca Misty and also DJ Nikki. Concert photography can be tricky due to the lighting and what not but I tried my best to capture the best moments with my iPhone5. These pics were taken from various locations - backstage, wave pool and the sponsor zone. Enjoy!

View from the sponsor zone. Those two huge balls that went around was pretty fun to bounce around lol

Loving the effect from the balloons :)

Yours truly.
I know, I am an amateur at taking photos but I am still learning and I think my iPhone did a pretty good job considering the fact that usually I can almost never get good pictures at concerts. Till my next post!

Let me give your heart a break.

DEMI LOVATO.

Here are some snippets from her concert last night. It was her first time in Malaysia and I felt it was only appropriate for her to sing "Skyscraper" right beneath our very own skyscrapers, the Petronas Twin Towers :)  Anyway, she put on a great show showcasing her strong vocals and musical talent with the guitar and piano..BUT what touched me the most was when she told people out there who are struggling with substance abuse, drugs, clubbing addiction etc. to seek help just like she did cause it does make a difference.  Inspiring. As you know, she was struggling with substance abuse for awhile and had to put herself in rehab. Right now, she's probably the only celebrity I know who lives in a halfway home and has a room mate by choice. Because she believes she will be kept grounded there (away from bad influences of the industry). That's a pretty big sacrifice to make considering she can afford living in glamorous houses in Hollywood.

I strongly belief in her message and I hope you all would too.
It does make all the difference.
