You Can't Fake Fashion

The Standard Bag - which kinda reminds me of Anya Hindmarch and her "This is not a Plastic Bag" bag that created all that buzz a few years ago...

These line of new bags here are designed to create awareness of counterfeit designer bags and hopefully reduce purchase of these bags too. There is no stopping them but at least there is no harm to try and stop this trend of knowingly (or sometimes unknowingly) purchasing replicas. I have heard stories of how some China "tourists" who would ask students who are backpacking in Paris to help them purchase original LV bags as they have purchase more than the store's limit. Why so desperate? Probably to bring it back to China to create more replicas and sell it off at a lower price.

Anyway, "You Can't Fake Fashion" bags are designed by 50 designers including Diane von Furstenberg, Coach, Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, The Row & Tommy Hilfiger. These designer bags were sold for $150 a pop and were sold out within hours! The standard bags that costs $35, are apparently still available though.

Here's a quick question, how long do you think it will take China to come up with a replica of these "You Can't Fake Fashion" bags? My answer, not long!  That's some food for thought for tonight :)
